Summer Flower Series
Immediately upon moving into our Minneapolis home, in the summer of 2025, it was clear we had landed in the right spot with the best neighbors. One particular neighbor who shares the alley with us dedicates the majority of his backyard to growing flowers. The view from across the alley in the summer is bright and colorful. And even more splendid is this neighbor routinely cuts and giftes us bouquets. I had fresh flowers on my table that entire summer, and every day I would sit and watch the sun pour through the petals and bring the colors to life. The transparency and illumination reminded me of stained glass, and the next steps were obvious. These flowers were loosely inspired by those arrangements. The red flowers are not modeled after any flower I know - I was just drawing petals. The cone flower and daisy, Iām sure you are all familiar with. And the yellow ball flowers are ones that have captured my imagination for a while now. I think they add some fun texture, color and whimsy to the arrangement.
All pieces have been sold. In addition, the yellow ball flowers were donated to an auction benefiting the Minneapolis Pregnancy and Postpartum center. If you are interested in commissioning a flower piece of your own, please reach out!
